OU 30, Texas Tech 13

Could have been 37-13 if it was that kind of team, which it is not. Jerry Palm over at CollegeBCS.com predicted Tech to win this, and I thought it would be close. I thought the Texas A&M game would be close, too, and both were -- in the first half. Perhaps the OU locker room has superior carbohydrate-enhanced sports beverages.

ABC-TV today showed a replay of a play from the Texas A&M game that I'm sure will get plenty of ink from me in next week's BCS Ramble.

Oh, by the way, remember the classless Cows from Texas who bragged about how they were driving five hours to see Texas Tech beat Oklahoma? They all left in the middle of the fourth quarter. I'll bet that was a loooooooooooong drive back to Austin. (reposted from Saturday night due to editing error; added last bit about the cows)

George Carlin live in NY

Aired Saturday night on HBO, live as always. Some pretty funny stuff ("go out and buy some jewelry and a new car or else the terrorists win"), but the "I hate stupid people" schtick is wearing thin in spots. Also, am I the only one who thinks that in the past few years Carlin has moved from deflating the pompous aspects of religion into outright hostility towards religion?

It's my birthday.

So just for the heck of it, and to satisfy family members who say they never have any idea what I'd like, I've updated my Amazon wish list. Please, don't send more than 5 iPods or I'll blush.

Talk about 9/11 and be fired

At least if it's your birthday, you're Iranian, and you work for the University of Miami. Face felony charges and stay on the starting football team; be bummed about your birthday as a med technician and find a new job. Florida is an interesting state. (My cousin's birthday is 9/11. This isn't him.) (found via "ObscureStore")
