Cheney's bait and switch

Though, to be honest, it's not just Cheney -- it's a whole bunch of Republicans saying that calling for investigation of US intelligence failures is the same thing as saying the President could have prevented 2001.09.11. The former is a lot more reasonable than the latter, and that's why lots of people are saying the former but few are saying the latter. (And it's about time someone like Joshua Micah Marshall called Cheney on being the bully he is.)

Story: Why do people think police have more privacy?

A couple of stories last week revolve around the idea that police officers somehow have privacy rights that you don't, even when carrying out duties on behalf of the public. It's ridiculous, of course, and just serves to mask that police aren't paid what they're worth. Too long for a front-page post, so it's a separate story.
