Story: Can we impeach Scalia now?
Today's rulings show Justice Scalia is no longer doing anything but rewriting the constitution to remove federal government power that rightfully exists, and to make sure as many people as possible get executed. If only Congress had the courage to send him into retirement. (Too long for a front-page post, but I've got the goods on him.)
"Bigger than Enron"
Tonight on PBS, Frontline explores how the corporate oversight system in the US, created in the 1930s after stock speculation caused the Great Depression, has been eviscerated. "Through interviews with SEC officials, corporate executives, members of Congress, and investor advocates, the one-hour documentary explores how the system of controls was eroded by conflicts of interests among watchdogs such as outside auditors, as well as congressional intervention that blocked efforts at protecting investors through improved checks and balances." Check local listings for PBS airings tonight, or see it on a satellite dish on the PBS national feed on Friday.
