The Importance of a Fair and Balanced Judiciary

HRC | Justice for All? The Importance of a Fair and Balanced Judiciary to the GLBT Community: "Justice for All? is part of an educational campaign supported by the Open Society Institute of the Soros Foundation.  The campaign's goal is to inform diverse groups about the importance of a fair and balanced judiciary.  The publication clearly outlines the unique relationship that exists between voters, legislators, and judges, and it is important that all Americans have a strong understanding of this relationship."

Viewer Beware: Debate Rhetoric Just That

By KEN GUGGENHEIM, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Thursday's presidential debate on foreign policy should come with a disclaimer: What you hear from the candidates is not necessarily what you would get in the next four years.

The article then goes on to mention several examples of how George W. Bush said things in the 2000 debates that proved to be absolutely false, and not a single example of a Democrat who said anything in a debate that turned out not to be his post-election policy.

A more accurate lede: "Thursday's presidential debate on foreign policy should come with a disclaimer: What you hear from George W. Bush is not necessarily what you would get in the next four years."

Don't hold your breath waiting for a correction.
