...though I have to admit, the words to O.K. Oklahoma have always struck me as something Tom Lehrer might have written, a cross between East Coast genteel "oh, goody" sensibility and the raw violence of football:

We'll march down the field with our heads held high,
Determined to win any battle we're in,
We'll fight with all our might for the Red and White.
March on, march on down the field for a victory is nigh.
You know we came to win the game for Oklahoma,
And so we will or know the reason why!

"A victory is nigh," "we'll hold to the course," "pledge heart and soul" - and "take home a victory or die!!!!"
