At least one of the GOP-owned Oklahoma media outlets is willing to stand up for FEMA director Michael Brown: KWTV, "News 9." In this video report, reporter/GOP victimologist Nick Winkler says that TIME "misquoted" Edmond officials. The one who said the Assistant City Manager is "more like an intern" now says that she corrected herself immediately and changed that characterization, but TIME didn't print it. The former Edmond mayor who said Brown was not on the UCO faculty now says that Brown "could have" been on the adjunct faculty.

However, it's hard to take any of this seriously when the report opened with the anchor saying this:

Hurricane Katrina has claimed yet another victim.

Yes, she meant Michael Brown, whose résumé padding is now equivalent, in News 9's eyes, to losing your home or your life. Man, there's no mistake or expression of incompetence that the GOP can't turn into them being a victim of something, is there?
