He doesn't look nine feet square

OETA's Oklahoma News Report just showed a report about an Oklahoma Historical Society event from last night when all seven living governors of Oklahoma (the current one and six former ones) came together for the first time in something like 32 years.

It's a rare event because the one of those whose term was the longest ago, from 1971-1975, is David Hall. He hasn't been back to Oklahoma in decades because, as Wikipedia puts it:

Three days after leaving office in January, 1975, Hall was indicted on federal racketeering and extortion charges, in a conspiracy involving Gov. Hall and Secretary of State John Rogers willfully steering State of Oklahoma employee retiree funds to investment funds controlled by Dallas, Texas, businessman W.W. "Doc" Taylor. Upon his conviction two months later, he became the first Oklahoma Governor to be convicted of criminal acts committed during his tenure. After exhausting all appeals, he served 19 months of a three-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona. Upon his release from prison in 1978, he was disbarred by the Oklahoma Bar Association, which effectively prevented him from practicing law in Oklahoma. Leaving the public spotlight of the political and legal fields, he later moved to La Jolla, California, where he has been a successful sales executive.

Oops. No wonder he hasn't been back here much. (Hall wasn't all bad - he got statewide kindergarten started, and I benefitted from it, along with tens of thousands of other children not living in OKC or Tulsa in the early 1970s.) So I went to look up information on him, and Wikipedia referred me to this page, where I see this disturbing information:

Governor David Hall

Term—1971 to 1975

Descriptive Summary

Size: 62 cubic feet
Creator: Office of Governor
Repository: Oklahoma State Archives
200 Northeast 18th Street
Oklahoma City, OK 73105
(405) 522-3579
Open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M-F

62 cubic feet! They showed him on video and he doesn't look nearly that big! How did he fit through the doors?!

No wonder the Republicans were so scared of him.

Martin Lawrence, call Reuters and thank them (Reuters)

They've just pitched your next crappy movie for you:

Reuters - A third of Thai teenage girls think Valentine's Day is an excellent time to lose their virginity, and police in Bangkok are out to stop them.

I see Matt LeBlanc as the sidekick, with cameos by Jackie Chan and Rush Limbaugh.
