Shorter Bobby Jindal

Although the founder of our party defined government as of the people, by the people, and for the people, you must now believe that our party has always believed government never has been, is not, and never can be any of those things.

Or, alternately:

George W. Bush's failures with Hurricane Katrina here in Louisiana proved government can't work, so let's never try again.

The governor has the cadence of someone trying to narrate a children's book but without any of the necessary charm or warmth. Plus, if you were watching on MSNBC or some other channel that had graphics over the bottom of the screen, you didn't get to see Jindal doing really weird things with his right hand. He was apparently attempting to jab his points directly at the cameraman.

Very, very odd.
