Dan Gillmor of the San Jose Mercury News is fed up with big media companies that demand ownership of everything and presume your only interest in music or video or software is stealing it. Alas, as Dave Winer points out, Knight-Ridder (his publisher) redoes its stupid sites so often that this link may not last out the year, but it's good now. (It's the "print-only" version because "RealCities" makes such bad HTML/CSS that on IE for Mac OS X, the entire article appears in a 40-character column that scrolls for pages.)
