For the second time this school year, the OU Men's team in a major college sport needs only to win one game it
can and
should win to play for the National Championship, and instead loses, ending the race. The football Sooners lost to Oklahoma State on the last game of the regular season; had they won, they would have played for the Big XII Championship and then on to the Rose Bowl. The basketball Sooners in the Final Four were definitely a good enough team to beat Indiana, but they hit early foul trouble, didn't play aggressively in the paint, and the three-point game just evaporated.
Final Four isn't bad, but if you're good enough to get there, you're good enough to be disappointed. The OU women play for the national title tomorrow night against the allegedly-unbeatable UConn.
