National Christian Coalition does Christian thing
Wow! The national headquarters of the Christian Coalition announced today that the Coalition fully supports Alabama Governor Bob Riley's propopsal to eliminate income taxes on the poor and raise them on the rich (see last week's post). "We are urging our members and all people of faith to support [this] bold and courageous initiative," said CC president Roberta Stone.
The Alabama CC did not know about it and seems somewhat blindsided, given its long-standing and virulent opposition to taking care of the poor and all that other Jesus crap that doesn't involve waging war.
This link is to The Right Christians, where you'll find much other good stuff on the Episcopal Church's shouldn't-be-controversial gay bishop election. And on this threat on schism: it's the conservatives who say they're going to walk out, creating schism, but they say that it's the progressives who are causing the schism. Why is it that when conservatives do something bad, they immediately accuse the other side of doing exactly what they're doing?
