Looks like a scooter, but is three times faster than walking, almost impossible to fall off (even if you try), responds to minute changes in your balance, and has impressed the hell out of everyone who's seen it. Time also has an interactive view of the device, called the "Segway," but it just shows you the parts -- it doesn't simulate riding the thing. $3000 in two years, they say. If I lived in a more dense city, I'd want one.
