The far-right board member of "American Vision" who was being considered by President Bush for an NLRB appointment has apparently asked that his name be removed from consideration, not wanting to face what would now be a public and protracted hearing on his theocratic views (or, at least, on the views his organization has advanced). There's still talk, though, that Bush might use a "recess appointment" to put him on the NLRB until January 2003 with no chance for Congressional approval. Far-right revenge for James Hormel? One wonders.
