Word 2004 update
Well, as it turns out, Word 2004 doesn't have an idle timer that's setting the font back to Times New Roman. It's simply incapable of adding a nonbreaking space in Minion Pro, the font we use for all body text in MDJ and MWJ. As soon as I press option-space, it shifts to Times New Roman. If I remove all copies of Times New Roman that Word 2004 can find, it shifts to the first Roman font it can find. And, of course, since Word convinces itself that I changed the font, all the characters after the nonbreaking space are in the new font. It will not change them to Minion Pro.
Word v.X (10.1.4) has absolutely no problems with any of this. Until this gets fixed, it's a deal-breaker: we simply can't use it for MDJ or MWJ. It's extremely disappointing.
